Can You Figure Out This Ghost Photo?
I am on vacation this week. So for my blog this morning I am going to do a quickie – here is a photo I was just sent by an SGU listener. They wanted our help in explaining the rather creepy image on the photo. Before I even read the e-mail, however, the sender sent another e-mail saying that they figured out the answer. Take a look and see what you think. I will post the answer in a couple days as an addendum below the fold.
Thanks for all the analysis. This is the result of an iPhone app, as some have pointed out. There is also an app to add a UFO to a picture.

Looks like a reflection of some kind. That, or the ghosts are vacating a room with a Twilight poster in it.
That’s too easy Steve. For the answer click here
Creepiest thing in the photo is the Twilight Eclipse poster on the wall. *shudders*
Aww! And I was hoping there was something physically in the picture. Like a ghost.
What? I don’t see anything wrong with the–OH EM JEE there’s a Twilight poster hanging! That’s horrifying! Σ(゚Д゚ )
maybe they take the “eclipse”poster down, and the picture will be fine
That’s the photographer’s reflection on the mirror from which the image was reflected into the camera. The light on the side is the giveaway.
Arrrrrrrrrrggghhhhhhhhhhhh!!! It’s horrific! Awful! Dread-inspiring! Oh gods, that poster for “Eclipse” will forever haunt my soul.
Why is there a black-and-white head on a color photo?
Trick question.
It’s not a ghost; it’s a leprechaun (without the hat).
Water on the lens?
There’s an App for that?!
He is hiding behind the box because, being a real ghost rather than a camera trick, his clothing did not follow him into the spirit realm.
My guess is a drop of water on the lens plus pareidolia.
Baby mammoth maybe?
It’s too small to be the ghost of a human being. Maybe one of Mary Norton’s Borrowers?
I have an iPhone and this looks very much like a product of one of the “ghost pic” apps that can be picked up for free in the app store. I have played with a few of them. Photographic toys. They just superimpose a “ghost” image – you can adjust the size and transparency of the “ghost” and put it anywhere in any picture currently stored in your phone.
Looks like it was done with the Ghost Capture iPhone app.

I don’t see anything creepy in this photo. There’s a miniature B+W, 50% transparent disembodied head floating near the plastic bin, but nothing creepy!
What is that odd looking flowered thing in the corner?
What is it with you people and Twilight??? Academy Award Winning series. Wonderful concept. Sparkly vampires rock.
Hold on, let me get my medications.
But seriously, it is probably that iPhone App.
Mirror image, window.
