In Russia, there are about 30 authorative scientists engaged in the study of abominible snowmen. In fact, they are setting up a university resaerch institute at Kemerovo State University to study the mythical Yeti, according to The UK’s Daily Mail.
You might ask: what scientific evidence for the existence of bigfoot is the driving force behind setting up this ‘distinguished’ institute? You might have correctly guessed that there is none
They are setting up this academy based upon anecdotes and footprints in snow. That this passes for science, even for a diverse blend of cultures and country such as Russia, is extrememly disappoining. It is yet more contamination of toxic pseudoscience eating away at the boundries of reality-based science.
In fact, for the entire history of reality-based science, there has never been a sample of DNA collected from hairs, droppings, fluids, or tissues that confirm bigfoot, Yeti, abominible snowmen, or any other cultural flavor of mythical primate-like biped you care to assign. And just what is the stated primary goal of the institute: to achieve contact with a bigfoot.
So this government-funded university, described as ‘a leading educational and scientific center of Kemerovo Oblast’, is establishing an institute to study a creature that scientists have yet to confirm even exists. Are they just not seeing the most basic problems here?
