    I always thought that chopping down spruce trees in December was a cruel religious practice. Now I’m sure it is.

    Reminds me of a Deep Thought by Jack Handy, which goes something like this:

    If trees could scream, would we be so quick to cut them down?

    We might, especially if they screamed all the time, for no reason.
