Psychic Charged With Fraud

Name: Sean David Morton
Occupations: scam-artist, self-proclaimed “Psychic”
Crime charged with: securities fraud

From psychic Morton’s website:

Sean uses his talents and abilities to predict future occurrences and trends such as earth changes, political events and stock market fluctuations. He has an astounding “hit rate”, or percentage of successes. His extreme accuracy has led radio host Art Bell to call him “America’s Prophet! A modern day Nostradamus with more hits than Barry Bonds and the Russian Mafia!”

I wonder what Art Bell thinks about ‘America’s Prophet’ now?  Peruse, if you will, around Morton’s website for a minute.  He is about as big a crank as the skeptical community has ever encountered.

I rarely praise the federal government, but when it is deserved, it should be proclaimed. Nice work from the feds over at the SEC.

Here is the link to the story from ABC News.   From the article:

“I have called all the highs and lows of the market, giving exact dates for rises and crashes over the last 14 years,” Morton said in a newsletter to potential investors. Along with his newsletter, Morton also used his website, public speaking engagements, and appearances on a nationally syndicated radio show to promote his Delphi Investment Group.

According to the charges, he bilked 6 million dollars from over 100 investors, and I would not be surprised if some of the victims turn out to be the Hollywood crowd he’s seen parading around with in those pictures from his website.

Well, so long psychic Morton, it was nice not being a victim of yours for all these years. And please say hello to Bernie Madoff for us when you see him.
