Science-Based Medicine Hickup
SBM was down on Friday and is down again today after days of very slow responses. We are not sure what the problem is – it could be simply the wild popularity of the blog, or a denial of service bot, or something else.
In any case, we are already in the process of changing hosts and significantly upgrading the service. This process should be done today, so hopefully SBM will be back up and running soon.

Thanks for the clarification. I miss SBM!
I get this when trying to access SBM:

Very odd!
I can hardly wait. No day is complete without a dose of SBM.
Glad it’s getting fixed.
PZ is reporting that Monday September 21 was (according to mathematical calculations) the time of the Rapture and now the Science Based Medicine site is no longer available.

Is that a coincidence? Were the SBM staff raptured up? Or is the site being down the first sign of the tribulations? (I would have posted this at PZ’s but can’t because of site blocking at work).
Dr Novella hasn’t posted yet today, is he still with us, or has he been raptured up? If so, I would presume because God would rather have honest intelligent discussion rather than mindless sycophancy.
I recognize Dr. Novella is from New England, but being a doctor, I would expect him to know it is a ‘hiccup’. A hickup might be a visit from your cousin in Alabama.
Still down I see as of 8:30pm central.
I’m killing time playing ping-pong with artfulD. But it’s not half as entertaining as SBM, so hurry it up.
